Globe Telecom to sell Modu
Philippine Telecommunications giant Globe Telecom will carry the Israeli-made mobile phone, Modu. The Modu is considered as the World’s lightest and smallest mobile phone and is listed at the Guiness World Records. It weighs 40.1 grams or 1.41 ounces. That’s small enough to stuff in small pockets.
The Modu is a mobile phone with SMS or text messaging feature. It can also store up to 2GB of data. To access the data in a Modu, you need to use “jackets”.
The Modu jacket is a single-use multimedia device for playing MP3s and GPS. There is also a mobile phone jacket which will enable your Modu to place calls.
However, the Modu doesn’t support 3G networks as of this time.
