NTC Orders TelCos to Lower Pulse Rate

The Philippine National Telecommunications Commission or NTC has ordered Mobile Phone Companies to implement a new metering plan for all mobile phone subscribers. Mobile phone companies currently charge on a 60 pulse or per-minute basis. The NTC issued an order to lower it down to a 6-second pulse, meaning instead of per minute charging, users will be charged on a per 6-second basis.
Mobile phone companies are given four (4) months to implement the new metering plan and stakeholders agrees that 4 months is sufficient.
NTC Commissioner Ruel Canobas expects drop on call charges because of this new metering plan. “This will be a big help to them because it will further bring down call rates“, Canobas said. Continue…
