Snow Leopard Fake Sites
Apple has released Mac OS X 10.6 last August 28 and even before that people are eager to get their copy of the new operating system.
There are a lot of websites that’s offering the OS for “FREE”. Trend Micro warns everyone to beware of these sites because users are likely to get malware out of the “Free” software.
These fake websites discovered by Trend Micro is said to serve a DNS (Domain Name System) Changer Trojan named OSX_JAHLAV.K.
The said Trojan alters the DNS configuration of the machine that downloaded it and includes two additional IP Addresses in its DNS Server list. After it does that, users can then be redirected to phishing sites. Some of these sites are reported to be serving rogue antivirus software called FAKEAV.
