Touch Screen Phones are more Appealing
According to several reports, Touch Screen phones appeal more to the Filipino audience. Why? Some reasons are:
- More appealing
- More stylish
- More features – compared to normal phones with alpha-numeric keypad, touch screen phones normally embarks additional features that takes advantage of it’s touch-enabled screen.
LG, a Korean electronics firm, is aiming to lead the Touch Screen business. They now have at least five touch screen phone models. One of them is the KP-500 or the LG Cookie which sells at around ~PhP 9,800.00 (~$210).
Raymond Hernandez, LG Philippines corporate marketing head, said they’re focusing on touch screen phones.
“Having a touch screen phone is a phenomenon not just here in the Philippines but worldwide. It’s both a fashion statement but also a function requirement because touch screen phones also offer some if not more of the capabilities found in ordinary phones,” Hernandez said.
One of the most appealing touch screen phone is the Apple iPhone. Aside from being a mobile phone, the Apple iPhone is also a full-fledged internet device with a full-desktop browser (a stripped down version of their Safari browser). You can also use the iPhone as a personal digital assistant with the help of a third party application that can be downloaded from the Apple App Store.
There are other touch screen phones in the market from different mobile phone manufacturers such as Sony Ericsson, Samsung, LG and Nokia.
